Welcome to the
Garden Room
The Garden Room serves our oldest class, those who are already 4 and turning 5. The class is co-taught by Ms Beth. She has a BA in Early/Elementary Education with five years experience working in preschool and she previously taught Kindergarten on the mainland. She attends Hope Chapel. Our other co-teacher is Ms Cara who holds a BA in Science Interdisciplinary Studies and an Associates in Eary Childhood Education. She also attends Kahului Baptist Church.The Garden Room is an interactive hands on learning environment. We are composed of the oldest group of students who are preparing to go to Kindergarten. We teach them to be independent and to be problem solvers. We introduce writing through many different activities and work on beginning math skills through daily calendar work and counting. We highly promote learning through their five senses. The students in the Garden Room learn to create, explore and think for themselves. We also spend time daily learning about God and His plans for us. We use Bible stories to learn life lessons as well as character development, prayer is also an important part of our daily class time. We believe in asking God to be a part of our daily lives and learning.And of course in the Garden Room WE WANT TO HAVE FUN! Whether it is painting with spaghetti or
getting up to our elbows in mud we have fun while we
learn. Because this might be a child's first experience
in a school setting, we believe that it is important to
make school and learning a place they enjoy
experiencing every day.
